A wide-ranging course, which will empower you with solid knowledge related to nutrition and health.

The course is appropriate for those looking for further knowledge and answers to questions, or those seeking to work within the nutrition field.

The course is geared at giving you the learner solid knowledge of nutrition and the confidence to apply this knowledge to aspects health and well-being, providing (upon successful completion):

  • 11 hours of CPD accreditation
  • Association for Nutrition (AfN) Level 3 (Health and Social) certificate


There are eleven key components of the course:

1. The Digestive System

2. Nutrients

3. Elements of a balanced diet

4. Nutrients and the cooking process, food storage and food processing

5. Metabolism, basal metabolic rate and units of energy

6. Importance and benefits of eating regularly

7. Basic rules/ guidelines of food labelling

8. Nutritional imbalances and health and well-being

9. Other dietary habits and factors

10. Principles of weight loss and weight management

11. General and further advice for health and well-being


Read through each section and unit to steadily build your knowledge, to gain a solid understanding of nutrients, their types, roles and sources and their relationships to health.

Once you have completed working through a unit, take the multiple choice quiz at the end, which will consist of one or more questions.
You will need to score an overall pass mark of 60% in order to receive your 11 hours CPD and AfN Level 3 (Health and Social) certificate
.

You may retake the course quiz should you score below 60%.
